The Philippine Science High School was established under
Republic Act 3661, otherwise known as the PSHS Charter. The
Charter was signed into law on June 22, 1963 by then President
Diosdado Macapagal.
The
PSHS started out in a rented building owned by the
Philippine Government Employees' Association (PGEA) on a
one-hectare site along the Elliptical Road, Quezon City. |

On
August 1, 1970 the school moved to its present campus,
using prefabricated buildings on a 7.5 hectare site
along Agham Road, Diliman, Quezon City. |

Sciences & Humanities

On July 1, 1972 the
school occupied its permanent buildings. The facilities then were
composed of the Administration Building and a main building called
the Sciences & Humanities Building (SHB). |
In 1982, Dr. Cleofe M. Bacuñgan started to envision a technology
laboratory. The plans grew to larger proportions as it became
apparent that the additional subjects in the PSHS curriculum
resulted in a lack of science & technology laboratory
facilities. The ground-
breaking ceremony for the building was held
on September 1995.
On September 9, 1996, this new building, called the Advanced
Science & Technology Building (ASTB) was inaugurated and
blessed.
