The Campuses

The Philippine Science High School (PSHS) System consists of schools which offer scholarships to deserving students who are trained under a curriculum designed to prepare them for careers in science and technology.  The PSHS System is one of the agencies of the Department of Science and Technology contributing to the expansion and development of the country’s scientific and technological manpower.

 
The PSHS System has seven campuses located at Diliman, Quezon City; Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya; Goa, Camarines Sur; Jaro, Iloilo City;  Palo, Leyte; Tugbok, Davao City; and Tubod, Lanao del Norte.  These campuses are referred to as PSHS Main Campus, PSHS Cagayan Valley Campus, PSHS  Bicol Region Campus, PSHS Western Visayas Campus, PSHS Eastern Visayas Campus, PSHS Southern Mindanao Campus, and PSHS Central Mindanao Campus, respectively.


The Screening Process

Graduating elementary students may be admitted to the PSHS by passing the PSHS-National Competitive Examination. The PSHS NCE is a two-step screening given to all qualified graduating Filipino pupils. The First Screening is a Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) consisting of sub-tests on Verbal, Non-Verbal and Mathematics is scheduled on December 11, 1999. The Second Screening, the Science and Math Aptitude Test (SMAT) consisting of sub-tests on Science and Mathematics is scheduled on March 4, 2000.
